The Provincial Ecological and Cultural Association and the Provincial Bureau of Forestry has recently released a joint announcement to grant 36 units (including Banshan village of Baizhang Town in Yuhang Area) the title of “Zhejiang Provincial Ecological and Cultural Base.” Aoqiduo Farm in Pinghu is also on the list.
The selection of “Zhejiang Province Ecological and Cultural Base” follows the guideline and standard of “good ecological environment, strong ecological consciousness, prosperous ecological culture, advanced low-carbon economy, harmony between human and nature, outstanding role-modeling effect.” The municipal bureau of forestry first recommends the units for apply for this title. Then the Provincial Ecological and Cultural Association conducted review and site inspection.
Aoqiduo Ecological and Cultural Base is an ecological farm that integrates ecological farming, leisurely sightseeing, catering services, and knowledge popularization. It is a national knowledge popularization base and a national AAA tourism area. The base has a total area of 250 mu and the green area has accounted for more than 85% of it. The total investment is 18 million RMB. 18 attractions have been developed and constructed. In terms of design and development, the base makes the best use of the current area, show great respect for the nature and history by well preserving the ecological and geological states. The farm has followed the thought of scientific development and aim for maintaining ecological balance. With the theme of organizing knowledge popularization events and promoting environmental knowledge, the area has sticked to the guideline of “human orientation and harmonious development”, created the tourism mode of “looking at the future, ecological environmental education, and science and knowledge popularization education”, and written the chapter of “human and nature, human and culture.”
