The Ministry of Commerce has recently released the list of national foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases. Pinghu luggage base has been identified as the national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base. In 2017, the export volume for bag and suitcase in Pinghu reached 384.723 million RMB, which has increased by 10.3% over the same period of last year, driving export growth by 1.8%. Firstly, we need to expand the market as the focus and tap new potentials. We shall combine the development needs of the city's bag and suitcase industry, actively organize luggage companies to participate in important exhibitions at home and abroad, and focus on overseas participation in exhibition. In 2017, a total of 60 subcontracting companies participated in key domestic and overseas exhibitions such as the China Fair, the Canton Fair, the American Traveling Goods Show and the China Brand Bags & Europe Show. More than 200 booths were put in place to achieve a better display effect. Secondly we need to educate the brand as the core and create new advantages. We shall seriously make the best use of the city bag and suitcase business conditions, work on export brand cultivation and development, and constantly improve the visibility of export brands and reputation. Currently Pinghu has 3 export brand names in Zhejiang bag and suitcase industry, and 5 export brand names in Jiaxing bag and suitcase industry with the emergence of Ming Kai, Xin Xiu, Travelers’ Home and a number of other export brands. Thirdly, we need to take the platform as the starting point to develop new formats. We shall take the opportunity of the pilot cross-border e-commerce supplier pilot counties (cities and districts) in the bag and suitcase industry, actively cultivate the main players in the cross-border e-commerce business in the industry. In 2017, the two bag and suitcase enterprises in Ginza and Ai Mei De from Pinghu were identified as the first batch of cross- border e-business demonstration enterprises. At the same time, we need to focus on building Jiaxing City cross-border e-commerce Demonstration Park and two cross-border e-commerce integrated service platforms for enterprises to develop cross-border e-commerce to provide logistics, agency operations, personnel training, overseas warehouse, and service provider support system to accelerate the development of new formats of foreign trade.
